Jennifer Ward is an award-winning author of picture books for children with more than 800,000 books in print. Most recently, she has written Mama Built a Little Nest", illustrated by Steve Jenkins, and "There Was an Old Monkey that Swallowed a Frog", illustrated by Steve Gray. A former elementary educator, Jennifer Ward is an experienced public speaker who travels the country, speaking in schools and at international and national writer and literacy conferences. Her titles have been featured in "Ranger Rick", "Your Big Backyard", "Learning Magazine", and "Real Simple", and she has been featured on national television and radio. Great Informative Book

This book was listed by author, Elizabeth Chadwick, as being on her research self. It is a very informative and interesting look at the life of noble women in the later Middle Ages. It is easy to read and to understand. I recommend it for those who are interested in the lives of these women who had more power and control of their lives than some may suspect; especially as widows!
