Stimulating and moving stuff

I was lent this book recently by a friend who knew of my interest in Irish literature and I have to say that I found it a very engaging and often moving read. At times the style is a little 'dense' but I think that the effort is worthwhile as Kirkland has an approach to the politics and literature of the 'Wee Six' that I found really refreshing. I'm not sure if the book might be difficult to get hold of, but if you are interested in Irish literature you really should give it a go.
