Everything You Want to Know About East Germany

This volume is a great reference for those interested in East Germany, its 40-year history as the strongest Warsaw Pact nation on the "frontline" of the Cold War, and the government and citizens of the country.
I'd say it's the best definitive history of the GDR in English that you will find abroad.
